Event Overview
Communities across Southern Utah are navigating important questions about safety, housing, infrastructure, and long-term sustainability. This event brings together local leaders, professionals, and residents for a meaningful conversation about how we build places that are financially resilient, people-centered, and designed to serve us well into the future.
Join us for a special presentation with Strong Towns founder Chuck Marohn, who will share practical, real-world insights on how communities can strengthen themselves over time through thoughtful decision-making and incremental approaches.
This is not a theoretical discussion—it’s a chance to explore what actually works in communities like ours and to connect with others who care about the future of Southern Utah.
Chuck Marohn is the founder and president of Strong Towns, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping cities and towns become financially resilient and responsive to the needs of their residents. A professional engineer and land use planner by training, Chuck has spent decades working with communities across the country to rethink conventional approaches to development, infrastructure, and growth.
He is the author of Strong Towns and Confessions of a Recovering Engineer, and is widely recognized for his ability to translate complex planning and financial concepts into practical, actionable ideas that communities can implement.
Through his work, Chuck has helped spark a nationwide conversation about how cities can become safer, more productive, and better equipped to serve future generations.
